Contest!

Mon Jul 30, 2007, 9:34 AM
First: Nuff said....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK peeps! I need a little help here. I just bought a new revolver...it is a twin to the one I already have.

So what's the problem? They need to be named. They are big, beautiful weapons, and it only seems appropriate that they be given names... right?

So here is the deal: whoever comes up with a good set of names for "the twins" gets a one month subscription...And if you come up with really good names, you might get a 3 month. :D

A pic of the one I already have in my possession is here: [link]

This little "contest" goes for as long as it takes to get some good names, and is open to whoever stops by my page!

EDIT: after thinking a little... I think this contest will probably end by the end of August, so get goin!

Whoa...I is a subscriber!!!!

OK SO I AM A SUBSCRIBER NOW!!!! WOOHOO!!!
So what does this mean? Will I upload more? Will my artistic drive be more powerful?

Probably not. :P hehehee... Now back to the regular Journal:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK...time to switch gears completely here.
I have this big list of weapons I still want to draw, but only a few are going to get done...
I still want to do some stuff for *Aliies and ~Frank-Murdock, and have a contest entry to do, but past that there may not be much new here for quite a while...

I picked up a copy of 3DS Max and (if I can get it to cooperate with my computer) I want to learn that. It will take a while to learn and (hopefully) master, so I might not upload much.

The only pencil and ink drawings I will be doing for a while will be something new and old, exciting and frustrating...Even though I really struggle to draw people and the like, I am going to draw an anthro wolf who happens to be my fursona. (feels weird to be saying this stuff, but I really dig the anthro work I see here on dA and want to join in.) So in the future, look for sketches (which may be in the scraps gallery) of a charcoal grey wolf named Kol Sunjammer.

Later y'all.

Oh, and if ~Lotix reads this...I am still trying to color that one pic....I just suck at it, thats all. LOL.

\"LIVE EARTH\" Bullshit

Mon Jul 2, 2007, 7:17 PM
The upcoming Live Earth concerts that are set to go in several contries (EDIT: 7 continents. See below.)this weekend are now being scrutinized. Now suspected of hypocrisy, these concerts are supposed to enhance the awareness of global warming and such.

A question is raised... How much electricity will these events consume? Will they go "unpluged" for outdoor concerts? Not if they actually want you to hear the music (which they do, cause then you go buy more CDs) So... where does the power come from? The main grid? Which contries have "green" power supplies. I know that there are alot of coal burning and natural gas burning plants around the world...surely they wouldn't pull power from these plants would they? After all, they are all about stoping global warming, right?

And what about the vehicles used to get to the concerts? Not just the fans either. Think about all the semi-trucks that have to haul in the stage stuff, and the busses and airplanes that bring the bands in? Those semis get what...6mpg with a light load? Geez. They better be driving hybrids and riding thier bikes to the concert, or they are just a bunch of hypocrites.

More research will go into this in the next week, as well as a rundown of what actually was used to put on this world concert set.

Everyone is welcome to help gather data! Just send me emails!

Update!
So I actually looked at the site for the concerts and saw that they are going to Antarctica! WHAT!?! Why are they using all that fuel and resources to go to a place where no one wants to be? Stupid. If they want to conserve resources and reduce carbon emissions, they need to lead by example, not just stage a publicity stunt... Grrrr...

Ok: it's been 20 days since I got my 360 and Gears of War... And it still kicks ass!

My job is driving me crazy! (and for a little more stress, I picked up some part time work at a sporting goods store in the evenings. I get to sell guns and ammo and all that cool stuff!)

On to the art!
I thought I would list all the ideas that float in my head right now to prove, if nothing else, that I am an idea man and that only the 'good' ideas get worked on.

dA related projects:
A sword for Frank-Murdock. (way late)
Some more starship sketches for Aliies. (need inspiration)

Blades
Flame Kris (concept sketches) [Flame etching in a smooth Kris blade]
Torn (concept sketches) [Basically a ruined sword]
Overkill (concept sketches) [Super heavy and an over-the-top design]

Guns
Talon Bullpup (ideas in my head) [Bullpup design for my T6C. See deviation for info]
Nightshade (concept sketches) [Super curvy energy-sniper-rifle]
Avenger (first design released, new sketch in the works, see deviation)
Intimidator (ideas in my head) [Super sniper rifle]
Slamback (ideas in my head) [you will just have to wait and see....)

Ships
Achilles (concept sketches) [A ship from the Slither story, see deviation]
Herodotus (ideas in my head) [A ship from the Slither story, see deviation]
Dragon (ideas in my head) [A ship from the Slither story, see deviation]

Vehicles
Cougar (concept sketches) [Tracked Light Recon Vehicle. TLRV.]
Outlaw (2nd stage sketches) [BIG seige tank]

Other
Chains of fate (partially completed final, in the drawer) [Just wait and see]

Hooyah!
At this rate, I'll never get done...

Drowning in ideas,
R. G. Robb

EDIT: These are only my art-based ideas. I could list all the other projects I have going... My custom Air Ride trailer that sits half built in my shop. My '65 Mustang race car that sits next to the trailer. My gun collection. Competition shooting. Electronics. Working on my property and house. And of course: drinking beer.
This is just a short list...
